This time I got another $1,200 - I just got $1,200 two months ago! It seems to be payment sensitive. I am paying 3-4 times the minimum payment each month.

    Thanks Citibank! :)

Nice work breeze. How long have you had your Citi card? I've had mine since October I haven't asked for an increase yet.

Congrats, breeze. Wished Amex would give me an increase every two months. :)

I opened the account in 3/01, got my first increase of $500 at four months. Been getting regular increases every 3-4 months since. Started with $4,000 CL, now at $7,000. No inquiries!! I use the card each month, keep a balance, pay early, 3-4 X minimum, so they'll make money, but not get scared of me. They like it :)

However, as you can see, I have my own agenda. I want to replace some old cards without applying and getting inquiries. It's working, just takes a little patience. If Citi and AmEx would report regularly to all 3 CRA's, I would cancel all my PVN accounts now, but without the regular reporting, it would hurt my balance to limit ratio to cancel PVN.

It would be cool to dance with the one that brung me, but unfortunately PVN doesn't get it.

I have 2 tax liens, filed '92 paid '96, showing as 4 on Equifax (duplicates). I leave them alone because the date verified would affect my score if they don't remove them. There actually are four public records, but in different cities, but it is the same debt - makes it more difficult to dispute them off. They will be off soon due to the time limitation anyway.

Breeze, congratulations on your Citi increases. That's awesome!

If you don't mind me asking, how did you get the increases, by applying on the Citi website or by phone with customer service? I ask because I have 3 Citi accounts, two of which I've had for about 5 months now and which I'd like to have increases on. Do you think 5 months is enough time to qualify for an increase on those accounts? They have both been paid perfectly, and in fact, I just overpaid both of them last month ($1,000 payments per account) and thus now they both have credit balances. Even though my limits on these cards are good ($10K and $9K), I'd like to get increases on both accounts, but don't want them to cost me a hard inquiry.

    Your suggestions/advice?

I do it online. If you call up and ask for one, you will get an inquiry!! To get one without an inquiry, log into your account, go to the "manage my account" menu and select "credit line increase request" - if you get a form to fill out, just leave, do not fill it out. If you have an automatic increase, it will say "congratulations! blah blah blah" and you have an "accept" or "reject" button to click. Click on "accept" and you get an increase without an inquiry.

Let me repeat, if you get a form to fill out, don't do it, you will get an inquiry, and probably get turned down.

Breeze, thanks for the info. I'll go ahead and give it a shot this morning. And I'll be sure to NOT fill out any form should they provide me with one!

I'll let you know what happens...wish me luck. Thanks again.

Sam, well I didn't get my increases either. Like you, I've paid them huge amounts each month, on time, but still no luck. I don't get those guys. Very frustrating.

Wow! I'm surprised! Maybe it's my good looks. ;)
Try after your account closes each month. Maybe the site keeps track of it and lets them know you're looking.

    Re: WARNING!

    MP$40,

Momof3 said that she no longer got taken to the fill out the form page if she wasn't pre-approved, AND that they pulled an inquiry for the request without warning her in advance.

    Scary...

Yep! That sucks......but I don't even care. They pulled TU and I could care less about TU. No one (other tha Citi and Chase) uses them in my area.

MP, I had heard that from someone else, also, and I was a little scared to check for a while. I wonder what the difference is? Some of us get the form/auto increase, and some get an inquiry.....
