Why is it that a company can come in and change the settings on my computer without my permission? For example, my home page is the MSN page and has been for a while. When I turned the computer on today, the home page was an outfit called "search it". I had to go into the computer settings to reset the computer to MSN. This has happened three times today with this company and I am positive I did nothing to cause it.

This is aggravating. It happens sometimes with Yahoo. If I visit the Yahoo site at all, I automatically get the Yahoo toolbar on my computer, and sometimes the homepage changes too. This is why I avoid them if possible.

    Go to:

    Tools
    Internet Options

Click on Security and make sure the level is at least set to medium (or higher)

Click on Privacy and make sure the level is at least set to medium (or higher) as well.

Close your browser and re-open. That *should* solve your problem.

Thanks. I will do it. What is really scary is that I know more than anyone else in my family about computers.

I love the computers, but they are aggravating some times.
