Ok stretch and yawn, take a deep breath, exhale, and without taking another breath say woo hoo. That is about it. < small grin> I got another inquiry taken off Experian. It took the full 30 days. Two days later my score via credit expert went up 1 point. Trans Union refused again to remove any inquiries. I'll just try again, and again, and again because I use Energizer batteries. John
Kinda wierd how you're having success with Experian (Congrats, BTW!) but not TU, while I'm wildly successful with TU, but can't get Ex to budge an inch. Huh... 8^|â?º~Å? <---(Me, thoughtfully scratching my chin)
I am having great success with experian and equifax I started with 11 and 13 negatives respectively and have managed to get rid of 3 experian and 4 equifax but transunion I started with 9 and only managed to get rid of 2 however this was only my first attempt. I just discovered I could do something about my credit problems and am still in the idealistic phase ----however the more I read the more I realize persistence is the name of the game
Quixote How are you getting TU to do anything? I have tried mail and online. So far they have only removed 1 with the online method. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks, John
14 Experian inquiries have been deleted after I disputed on-line via Creditexpert. I just disputed 2 Trans Union inquiries on-line. My understanding is that TU is difficult to deal with so I am not hopeful. Best regards, Jim
No secret sauce here. I sent a very simple (cheesy, really) Dispute Form the first month which resulted in 7 deletes on my CR, 7 deletes on my wife's plus one changed to Positive. I simply stated on all of them that this does not match my records, please verify. The second month, I asked for an explanation of the method used to verify the remaining negatives and gave them two weeks to do it. I also included a couple more tradelines that I had missed the first time around. Results: 5 more deletes on each of our CR's, and 1 changed to positive on mine. I know here are a number of people here who poopoo the idea of going through CCCS and paying off your bills, but one thing I think is working in my favor a bit is that, since all of these tradelines are paid off, the creditors don't seem to have as much 'fight' in them as I expected. The major exceptions are Cap One and Chevron, who apparently aren't at all amused with my efforts to delete those trade lines. No big lies that I'd have a hard time explaining to my daughter (to me, that's the ultimate test of what I'm doing or saying). Just asserted my right to verification and put the burden of proof on them. I wish I could say it has been as successful with EQ and EX, but I have had some success with those as well. So, our ugliest CR is now our best CR. I've still got a little ways to go (the last mile is always the hardest), but I'm glad I've done the first parts myself, simply because I learned so much from it. But part of being smart is knowing what you're dumb at, so as I get deeper into the weeds, the more I realize that it's time to call in the pros to finish this off. I guess it's time I send in my fifty bucks to Mr. Bauer.
Transunion is a pain in the A$$! They will send you this little pre-fab letter saying you need to contact the creditor if you believe they didn't have a "permissible purpose" to be checking your credit. I guess I'll just have to do that, and when they tell me it is the credit bureau's job, I'll send TransUnion the note from the creditors, along with their worthless note. Then, they will have no choice but to initiate an investigation!
