I disputed an old account on my husband's Experian report. It was correct on mine but I guess because it was joint they put mine in dispute also. I was trying to get it from "charge off with $899 due" to "included in bk, $0 balance" which is what my CR read. His report was updated a week ago, but mine remained in dispute.

Today I see the results. They have moved it from "included in BK" to "paid/never late." Cool you think and I am thrilled. Guess what score does? Yes, I lost 2 points. So I get a major derog changed to a great positive and I lose points. How do they explain that one?

Happy and frustrated all at once,
    Kim

They don't have to explain anything.
Consumers are dumb enough to keep on dealing with them.
They get by with this kind of stuff because we let them.
