After reading the recent post by ole Lizardking, I remember my encounter with a CA. Funny thing, the debt was not even mine! Last spring I started getting phone calls from Amoco. It was a pre-recorded message for me to call a 800 number to discuss my past due balance. Problem was I don't have a Amoco credit card. Now imagine this conversation- CS-How can I help you? Me-Yeah, you left me a message to call you about a past due account. CS-Yes, your account number? Me-Well that's a problem, I don't have a account with you folks. So no account number CS-Hold on sir, while I check. Well sir, it looks like you must have a account b/c our computer would not call you by mistake. Is there a person or extension for you to contact? What phone number are we calling? What is your name? Me-No, it's just a pre-recorded message asking me to call and discuss a past due balance. The number is blah, blah and my name is ..... CS-Well sir I will speak with my supervisor and we will call you back. Me-Sure...... This crap went on for over a month! They never made notes or did a live person ever call. Just the same pre-recording. God, I wish I can sue people for being stupid. Best regards, Sam
Yea, I liked that one..... I guess they must be trying to get people to pay at random... by the way Sam, are you using a new user name now or just sometimes?
Kev, I tried to use Sam but Sam 1 took that user name. So for a user name I took my "favorite" casino's name. Favorite as in where I got my clock cleaned out. It's good reminder for me to keep my focus. Best regards, Sam
