Have to hurry up and brag before I receive the settlement agreement in case there is a confidentiality clause Van Ru sent me a dunning letter last Nov. for the PAST DUE $44 balance on my HH account. In all reality I was at $245 with over limit and late charges. I had paid it about a week before I got their letter. Anyway, sent out the validation letter, just to protect myself from them slapping a paid collection on my CR. Never heard from them again. Flash forward to two weeks ago. Oops, they sent me a "settlement offer". I was bored, everything else was stalled so I sent an ITS for continued collection just to see what kind of reaction I got. They called today, before I even got the green card back. They offered to pay off the balance on my HH account $250 to go away. Not a bad return for $8.84 in CMRRR letters.
