I know this has probably been discussed but I can't find a thread that answers my question. Which step would probably result in total deletion faster? Ask for validation from the CA and if none provided contact CR to remove. OR Dispute with CR as not mine. For those who have experience, please comment.
Killer its six in one hand half a dozen in the other. Here is my theory: If you send the credit bureau a dispute disputing the account the collection agency could not verify it and it will be removed. Most collection agencies don't care after they get their money. If you send them a validation letter, they may just remove it with out much of a problem since they were paid. I have had several pages of collections and paid only one. The reason was because the collection agency sent me a letter and told me if I didn't pay the balance in full they would report it after 30 days, if I paid it they would consider the matter closed and wouldn't report it. So I paid the account within the 30 days. Its a luck of the draw. Send the validation and dispute it at the same time. See what happens.
