another question on cc?

    Many of you stated cc charge off will be off in 7 years. I live in texas.Many cards were charged off around 6/2000 does this mean they will be off 6/2007 or after. I am aware that if i agree to pay at this point, the clock starts over so i have never talk to them or agreed to anything. thanks

    Nope, it will not reset the reporting clock. HOWEVER, it will restart the SOL for the debt itself. If the chargeoff was in 2000, then chances are good that the SOL for judgment is past. Check your state rules.

    Thanks for the reply. However, i still would like to know when for sure they would be off the report by 2007 or after 2007, if they were charged off in 2000?? thanks

    6/2007 at the very latest. Should be before that.

    SOL is 4 years from default in Texas.
