The summons I received states I must answer to their post office drawer address in Columbia, SC which is 2 hours away, I thought I would have to answer it in the county I lived.

    top of summons says:

    State of South Carolina

    County of Dorchester

    CACH, LLc
    plaintiff

    vs

    Me
    defendant

    no docket number

If it was not filed in your county of residence, if it were me, I'd file the answer and any affirmative defenses I had, file a counter claim for improper venue and a Motion for Summary Dismissal for Improper Venue.

    I agree with Enigma.

You would also be well advised to simply call the clerk of the court wherein this action was allegedly filed. See if a civil action has actually been instituted against you.
