I sent a validation letter, the one posted by LizardKing to a collection agency. I sent it certified so i know they signed for it almost a month ago. They have been reporting on my credit report since just January over a phone bill that I didnt even know about. Well I called the original creditor and paid it and they dont even report to the CRA's so they said they would just ignore it and not report anything which was fine with me. however, I just noticed as of last week that this collection agency is now posting on my report that this collection is now paid.

They have not sent back my letter requiring validation. My question is what do I do next with this? I never paid them yet in the report they claim I did. Im assuming they tried to verify it and the original creditor told them it was paid, but should they really be reporting this since I never owed them the money or paid a dime to them?

    Thanks,
