I had excellent credit for many years, but got in over my head with some business dealings and then lost my day job. Bankruptcy was dismissed in September '99. Kept car w/ $300/mo payment. No other debt. Make $59K/yr. Been at this job 2.5 years. Been at same address (renting) 1.5 years. Where can I get a card that doesn't have all those 1-time membership fees, processing fees, acceptance fees, monthly participation fees, and high annual fees (i.e., ripoffs of the down-and-out)? I'm resigned to the fact that I will probably have a high interest rate. Anything better out there than a secured card where credit line = deposit? Thanks!
RE: Any cards w/o ripoff 1 tim I'd apply for the Aspire Visa. Sky-high interest rate at 27%!! but no other bullshit fees and such. Approval is easy unless you live in a state that caps interest at below 27%, in which case you'll be declined.
