    I have a bealls account as the only negative on my TU report. The account is from 1997 and I havent made a payment yet. I have been trying to get it removed by numerous letters to the OC. Well on my TU report it states:
    opened=1995
    closed=1997(collection account) $77.00
    status as of 11/1997:collection account
    Now I pull my eloan score and it says that the one factor that is killing me is that in the past two years I was late 22 times on my account. My score is really low too. I only have this one account. The rest of my credit is great, two paid off car loans. I havent been late on anything. My question is, are they reporting stuff that Im not seeing? Eloan does pull TU right?
    Can bealls do this to me? I haven't paid anything on the account ever(dont even know if its mine) Im about to sue them. After they recieved my letters, they changed the 90 day from 9 times to 30 times. They change it everyday. Please help..

    What letters did you send them?

    You could offer to pay the account. If you offer 100% that would be $77. If you sue them, I have herd it costs 100 to file in small claims court.

    As far as the funny business with all the lates go, it may have to do with the fact that this account was created before the Fair Credit Reporting Act of 1996 went into effect. Accounts created before January 1998 fall under the old rules where lenders were allowed to drag their feet on closing accounts.

    Eloan does pull from your Trans Union credit report.

    Good luck.
