Any Ideas

    i was contacted by a junk debt buyer a couple of months ago that they purchased my debt from discover and wanted to collect and that i could ask for a dv from them.i sent them a dv letter and a letter to contact me in writing and not by phone.i have,nt heard from them since.its been at least 2 months does anyone have any idea what gives.

    Could be anything...

    Could be they don't have the information and have just dropped your account to the bottom of the pile.

    Could be they are requesting the information from the OC as described by the FDCPA and they haven't gotten it yet.

    Could be they are ignoring your letter and putting their attention towards people who don't dispute.

    In any case, I'd check your credit report to see if they are reporting the account. If they are, then dispute the account and it should come off, at least until they send you the verification. If they verify the account to the credit reporting agency but have not sent you the verification, you have grounds to sue them for an FDCPA violation.
