Any Info. On This Company?

    Hello,

    I did a search but could not find anything has anybody dealt with

    www.crownjewelers.com


    i looked around the website and they seem very easy to get a card thru but im just not sure they are legit any opinions?

    Not that this will help, but I was looking at their website. On their home page, it says "No Credit Check". When you click the link to apply, it says at the bottom "Crown Jewelers and others on behalf of Crown Jewelers are authorized to verify any other information I may have submitted to them, and check my credit and employment history". A little contradicting.

    Ahem, did you read their Account Holder Agreement and Disclosure Statement?

    From their Account Agreement:

    14. COLLECTION: You agree that if you do not pay on the Account, you will accept calls from us at your home and your place of business regarding collection of the Account. You understand that the calls to your home could be automatically dialed and a recorded message be played. You agree such calls will not be "Unsolicited" calls for the purposes of state of federal law.

    Is this legal?

    18. CREDIT INVESTIGATION: You authorize us at any time to make whatever credit investigation we feel is proper to evaluate your credit, financial standing and employment, and you authorize us to exchange your credit experience with credit bureaus and other creditors we reasonably believe are doing business with you. You authorize your employer (past, present or future) and other references to release and/or verify information to us at any time. You also agree to furnish us with financial statement we may request at any time and in such detail as we may require.

    I'd rather skip doing business with these people.

    If I'm not mistaken there have been many complaints about them on the board.

    I've heard some very good things about Crown Jewelers. I decided to apply for their card because they have some very positive feedback on another board I belong to (www.creditreports.com).

    They will give you credit for buying things on their site only, so it's not a Visa or MC. But if you pay the monthly fee they will report to all 3 CRA's.

    I have a terrible rating and they gave me $1500 credit.
