Need some serious therapy after this one. My hubby and I moved on our in-law's property into a small rent house. We use the same address as our in-laws and since we didn't want to get an address seperate from theirs (since it's temp) we had to use them (extention of their current telephone service) to get a phone. The phone company SPRINT, is completely under their names and ss#'s. Here is the problem. My hubby is a JR. and because the SR didn't pay the long distance on one his other lines it ended smack dab on my hubby's report. Sprint today (after about 4 transfers) finally told me they can't give me any info on this acct. nor can they send me a letter stating that my hubby's ss# is not responsible for the $$$, and they will not send my father-in-law's ss# to the collection agency, call NCO. Called NCO and they said they don't have a ss# just an address and a name...no SR or JR. So they can't do anything unless sprint tells them different. Call Sprint.............now what? Dead end both places.

I agree with LKH...Too much of a run around. Sue 'em.

Have you tried speaking to a manager at Sprint or NCO or are these just your everday run of the mill CSRs?

I would start writing some strongly worded letters and start sending them off CRRR. This is crap and you need to start being more heavy handed.

Sprint is very hard to deal with. I just cancelled my service after about three years because they refused to remove a $2 late charge they had mistakingly charged me. When I called to complain and said I would cancel unless they removed the $2 charge, they gave me the number to call to cancel service. When I wrote and said the same thing, they gave me the number to call to cancel. And, I had a receipt to show I was right.

It was only when I called and said the majic words "cancel my service", that they agreed to remove the late fee. I went ahead and cancelled anyway. The moral is, they will not help you unless you say the majic words "cancel my service"

Because your service is not in your name, you will have a fight. I think you will have to go the regular route of validations and verifications. Just be ready for a fight.
