I have not heard anything for a couple weeks on our friends at Nextcard. Do we have new owners yet? If not, any clue on who they will be? Last I heard was that negotiations were ongoing. Nextcard jacked my rates, so the new owners cannot be any worse.
NOTHING.... I pave paid off wife's account and she used it for a total of like $100.00 for the past 4 months... Mine, I have made VERY LARGE PAYMNETS (>$1,000)...almost paid off...(SORT OF HOLDING OUT)...DON'T WANT A "SORRY, YOUR CARD CAN NOT BE RENEWED OR TRANSFERRED TO THE NEW BUYER"
George: If your account is current, why would they refuse to transfer it to a new buyer? the reason I ask is beause I am near my limit, but current and never late. I would be in deep dodo if they did not keep it open. No place to transfer it toand I am hoping the new owners will offer some type of deal. Any opinions on who might buy them? Will it be some sleeze company like Providian or a middle of the road company like FirstUSA? I can't see a top lender like Citi buying them.
I think we're all stuck waiting until something finally happens. You can bet as soon as it does, someone will post it here.
