The way I contact Equifax is: (877) 299-5701. They change their number onece or twice a month, and have some sort of computer scheme to weed out people who dont have their files. After you call the above number, it asks for a 9 digit confirmation number. When it asks, enter something like 204 xxx xxx. (x is any number it behooves you to press). Aparently the confirmation numbers are sequential and they block off the ones that are 4 or so months old. When you get to a represenative they as you 'Please VERIFY the confirmation number.' Of course, you can hear them keying it in the background, meaning that they dont have the one you entered. At this point tell them 135 xxx xxx. They will say that the number is not in the system and will then go by your name and ss#, etc. This is how to defeat Equifax and cut right to your credit information.
Thanks longhair. But I have the customer service #. I need the # to the business office. I know some of you have it, as I have previously seen it posted. But I can't find it. I actually find it quite amazing that everybody wants and expects me to give answers when they need it, but when I need something, no one responds.
