I received my EXP report recently. The date of the report is 10/6/03. There were 3 derog lines two of which were charge offs(Suntrust and Macys) and one was for 30 & 60 days late(First USA). I called Suntrust and they could find no record of me and she suggested I dispute it with the CRA. Yesterday I went to EXP web site to dispute all three items and it was only showing the Macys charge off and no other negatives!!?? So, I called EXP and he said the First USA was showing no lates and Suntrust was nowhere to be found. I never had any contact with First USA. How could this be? I am looking at my report right now and there they are. I am not complaining, only wondering how this can happen and if I should be concerned that these are going to come back to haunt me. Thanks for any insight! Also thanks to everyone for all the advice and information here. I have been reading for several weeks now and I am ready to start my fight. it sounds like there was an error with exp. maybe your report kinda got merged with someone elses and they saw that and fixed it. if your report is ok now then i would just leave it and of course recheck it if you are going to apply for credit. did you ever have an account with suntrust or macys or did that just appear. you should call macys and make them verify anyway since its a chargeoff, it would be better to get it off your report.
Well that's whats weird. They have been there for a while but not long enough to age off, and I just thought I had to live with it. I am going to dispute with Macys now. I called them to get an address to mail my dispute and the lady told me she couldn't give that to me without me "verifying" my SS# with her. I told her to get real! I hope I catch them in some violation! Oh well, I am happy about the Suntrust and First USA accounts. I'll take 'em however I get 'em!
