Last month I received my new Chase card from my sold Providian account. It was active as of 8-18 or so. I received a statement from Providian with a notice that my account had been sold to Chase. It had a minimum payment due and due date. I checked their website and it said account information was no longer available and to contact Chase. I had not received a statement yet from Chase so I called them and asked if I should send them the payment. They said if I had a statement from Providian to go ahead and make the payment to them. I went ahead and sent the payment out. It has not yet cleared my bank and everytime I call to check it tells me to contact Chase and disconnects me. I've tried bypassing the automated and going straight to a rep but all I get is what seems like dead air. My question is....have any of you others that now have Chase made a payment yet, and if so, to whom?
I also had Providian which sold my account to Chase. I called my payment in on 8/30, to Chase, because it would have been late thru the mail and had not yet been approved for internet payments. The fellow I spoke with said Chase was waiving the over-the-phone payment fee this month to former Providian customers. Good Luck with you payment!!
