Has anyone been able to get a trade from any of these companies deleted? or are they sticklers.

    Direct Merchants bank MC. dola-7-01
    first premier MC- dola-7-01
    Providian Visa dola-7-01
    Cap 1- 5-97
    Transouth auto finance 7-02
    wells fargo financial acceptance 10-01

I also have about 4 trades. dept store, hosp bill, installment loan, and local newspaper ad collection all with dates of last activity oin 1996. is it more prudent to leave those alone and wait till they hopefully drop off later this year or since they are older accts would it be that much easier to try to have them validated and maybe get them removed for sure quicker. in either event even if validated they would still go off..one would hope.

Anyway the CC/finance cos I listed above I was hoping to hear if anyone else had to deal with them and if they had any success. i know folks have had Cap 1 and Providian but havent really seen if anyone was successful at deletion.
    Any input.... thank you.

I am not trying to sound negative but here is what I know from my experience and alot of others that I have read here: First Premier, won't go away, Providian, YEA RIGHT, they'd rather be sued AND go to court than remove something, Cap1, same as Providian, the others I do not know.

The key with Providian is persistence. I had to dispute it 8 times with Equifax before they removed it on their own, fearing a lawsuit.

LKH, I have not told you about my latest have I? Marc, has been helping me and now Pam as well. I have disputed Providian over and over, I have sent Providian letters stating they need to prove the account since hubby does not recall having an account with them (he really didn't, it was a bank that they bought out) anyway I have done EVERTHING imaginable except sue. I have contacted the BBB, state AG's office sent Providian letter after letter all I have gotten from them is basically 'too bad, we find that the tradeline is correct so it stays.' I have sent copies of all correspondance to Equifax, have contacted Equifax's legal counsel regarding this account and a couple of others, hubby's report has now been turned over to the dept of Consumer Affairs and just got a letter from them the other day, know what it says? YADA YADA Providian states this account to be correct therefore it remains, though Equifax has added 'consumer disputes pending resolution with creditor' That is not even making it unrated, so it is still hurting hubby's score, though probably not too much bc it IS 6 years old, but Equifax understands right now that we are about to sue, and have lots of damages but they still refuse to delete. I have not filed suit against Providian for the simple fact that after the way tac has talked, there are going to fight tooth and nail.

Keep disputing. I had two Direct Merchants accounts and a Providian account. All three have dropped off of my Transunion and Equifax reports because they did not reply in the 30 day time frame. All three are still on Experian, because I thing Experian didn't really my investigate disputes. I'm going to give it a few months and try again with Experian.

I have been reading some discouraging info regarding Cap 1 for sure. though in the grand scheme of it since thier DOLA is 5/97 I am presuming worst case scenario is they stick around till summer 04. but if ANYONE has had luck with the othersat all, let me know.
