Anyone dealt with Citi Credit Dispute Unit?

I don't know what is up with that department. I sent them a detailed letter and copies of my credit reports due to the fact that my two visa and mastercard accounts were not showing up on Equifax. They are my oldest tradelines and were deleted a few years ago due to a dispute I initiated with EQ. I figured they could help me add it on. I also emailed my problem to a contact at Equifax to see if they can help me.

Anyway, since I pull my CR every day, I noticed that the two accounts were suddenly appearing on EQ but with 2003 info and were automatically placed in dispute by Equifax. The accounts were updated, but one of the accounts is reporting as closed with a $0 credit limit. WTF! Not only that.. I noticed that my Experian credit file shows both accounts as closed with a notation stating "account in dispute - closed by credit grantor". I don't get this at all since both accounts are very much open and active. In addition, I never authorized the Citi Credit Dispute Unit to touch my Experian credit file.

This has been a real PITA to fix because Experian won't allow me to initiate a dispute with them. I just tried voicing my anger via planetfeedback so I hope that helps. But this is annoying because I have a balance on both accounts and it is killing my scores. Does anyone know a faster way to handle this? This is really annoying me. I asked several times for a direct phone number to their dispute unit so I can explain my situation, but they claim there is no direct number. I've also tried faxing in my complaint again asking them to call me but no response. What kind of service is this?

Honestly, planetfeedback is the best method of communicating with Citibank S.D. and U.S.A. Be persistant and they will get it resolved.

As for Experian or any other credit reporting agency, do not contact them regarding the tradelines insofar as if they contact Citi, Citi will mark it as being in dispute. Citi actually puts forth a good faith effort to comply with the FCRA and in this event, it is actually detrimental to your efforts.

This is the reason it is marked as in dispute now.

    Keep trying the PFB method.
