Here's the deal... My EQ CR is handled by regional CSC. I faxed a letter of dispute to them on 2/21 (using a fax number (281/878-1974) I got from another site). I made sure to get a fax transmittal sheet. On 2/26, I checked my online EQ report, and there's nothing to show that anything's in dispute at all. I don't know if EQ marks the online as "in dispute," but I know either EX or TU did. So on 2/27, I e-mailed CSC a copy of the same dispute, letting them know that I had already faxed them and have a copy of the transmittal sheet. I have "Alert when opened" for this particular e-mail, but they haven't opened it as of today. Here it is a week after the fax, and I haven't seen or heard anything. Do I just chew on my fingernails for the next 23 days, and then send the next letter (15 days)? Or do I try to e-mail or fax them again? Does anyone have any idea if I even used the correct fax number? (281/878-1974) Thanks in advance for any replies! FuturePerfect
I faxed a dispute to that number. When I was on the phone with them the next week they confirmed they had received it and had begun an investigation. Cheers, Tom
Thank you, Tom! Was that fairly recently? I know that CRA's are notorious for changing fax numbers often. Okay, I'll just be realllyyyy patient then.
I faxed them two disputes on Monday evening and by Friday they had updated my report to reflect the disputes (I received an alert email from CreditWatch). This took me by surprise, as I expected it to take much longer for them to respond.
Thanks again, Tom. Happens to be the same day I faxed mine. I have another question...maybe a silly one.... CSC *will* update the EQ report, correct? I have to keep logging online to check it, but that's cool...
