Anyone ever noticed...

    When you dispute inquiries with Equifax and they send you the 'results' at the top it says Equifax contacted each source directly and our investigation is now completed. Then at the bottom it says Inquiries are factual record of file access, please contact the creditor directly and follow their internal fraud procedures.
    Makes me think they never checked into it, but they say they did! What do you all think?

    I think the Equifax computer pinged the creditor's computer, and if the creditor's databank still contained the error that appeared in the credit file, then it came back "verified." Of course, the error wouldn't appear in the credit file in the first place if the creditor hadn't reported it that way, so that's usually how incorrect items are often "verified" (whatever that means in this context). :(
