Im a little confused on what the SOLs to being judgement proof is for NY.

I know what the DOLAs are but Im confused what the appropriate time lengths to apply in the case of a cc charge off or a collection account?

SOL and how long it can stay on your credit report are two different things.

SOL means how long they can legally collect the debt. Or how long you are legally required to pay that debt.

I believe the SOL is 6 years for credit cards in NY. But I'm not sure.

What I am sure about is how long those things can stay on your report. An UNPAID charge off or collection account can remain on your report for 7 years, although if it's older than 6 years they can no longer sue you to collect the money. A PAID charge off or collection must come off your report in 5 years.

    Does that help?
