Thanks to everyone for all your great advice. I've been reading this board for about 10 months and have learned a lot. I have a paid lien on my equifax - the only bad thing left! Someone said if you dispute your address, (that the lien was under), they have to remove it because the courthouse must have 2 identifying pieces of info. to validate it's yours. Has anyone had any luck w/ this? I tried it but I think they are giving me more s***!
I'm currently in the middle of this process. 5 paid tax liens and disputing as not mine. Investigation will be complete on June 17th. The original address from tax lien is no longer on the credit report.
Generally, the older the lien gets, the easier it is to remove. I have had up to 23 paid and unpaid liens on my reports. You just have to keep at it. Released liens are easier to get removed than upaid ones; although I have done both. Ironically, having a handful of released liens doesn't seem to kill your score that much. I believe a released lien could hurt you when you credit worthiness is being determined by manual means. Hope this helps. Iv
Re: Anyone Gotten A Paid Lien Delet What letter/info. did you use to get it removed? They are still validating mine even with the deleted address. The lien was put on in 1996, but released 8/00. Thanks for any suggestions.
