We just filed suit today against Cavalry Investments because they pulled my husbands TU credit report twice and did not have a permissible purpose. I have contacted them several times, and apparently they have no idea WHY they pulled the report, as they do not have a file for my husband. Was wondering if anyone else noticed any mysterious A/R on their TU from Cavalry Investments, hoping to find some pattern as to why they are pulling "random" credit reports. Figured it was worth a shot asking you guys. Thanks.
Leo, If you call them and find out that they don't have an account for you, let me know. I could use the ammo in my hearing. If they don't have a permissible purpose for pulling your report, they owe you $1000 per pull. I am asking for $2000 because they pulled twice. I am wondering if they are doing something illegal, like screening accounts BEFORE they purchase them (I know-far fetched, but not sure of why else they would do it). Of course they are a collection agency, so if you think they really do have an account for you, you might not want to call. Let me know what you find. Thanks, Kelly
