I've been reading a lot of the back posts on CAs and PP vs NPP and it looks like that unless the CA can prove they now have your account, a hard pull is a NPP. I have two or three hard pulls from different CAs that are NOT listed anywhere in the credit reports. I only know they are CAs because they say collection activities. It's possible that they were assigned the debt by the OC, but I never was notified of this due to timing, moves, the post office forgetting how to forward mail, etc. I'm considering trying the "Hey, why did you pull my account, I don't understand?" dumb route with these CAs to see if they will delete the hard inquiries. My concern is, if they DO have an account (which has since been discharged in BK), will they start to report a new collection account, even if they use the proper dates? I mean, the $1000 for NPP would be nice, but my credit is thrashed enough, I don't need to INVITE derog info! Thanks!
