Anyone have a Dillards Card??

If you do do you may be able to help me.

I have a simple question. They just began to report my new account with them. I have a 1,000 CL but they are not reporting it. On all 3 CRA's it says N/A for CL. Not another Crap One????

I hope to hear that some of you have had different experiences. Perhaps a phone call or PFB to Dillards could solve this. Although I did notice that they don't even list my CL on my monthly statement either. They did indicate what my CL was when I received my approval.

I'll have to check the g/f's report. She has a $3k limit at Dillards. They also have some 2nd credit line for furniture. She bought a couch there last year and it didn't affect her regular credit limit, nor did it show up on her credit report detracting from her CL. They told her that whatever her limit was, she was allowed that up to that amount in the home furnishings area as well. The home furnishings she bought never showed up on the CR. All this may sound confusing. I'll look at her report later today and follow up here with more details.

I'll try to remember to check. I can't recall offhand if they report CL or high credit.

Sorry I took so long. I went on a trip and re-injured my knee, so have been taking it easy.

My Dillard's account shows N/A for credit limit and $103 for high credit. Guess I better buy something big and take it back after it bills!!

I disputed the N/A CREDIT LIMIT ON EXPERIAN AND LOST AMEX BLUE FOREVER...

You might want to send a copy of the statement to the CRA with the CREDIT LIMIT HIGHLIGHTED...and ask them to report it 100% CORRECTLY...N/A IS 100% WRONG!!!

    Hi GEORGE

The sad thing is that the statement does not have an available credit amount. I will be calling Dillards to see what they have to say and updating the board.

    I will keep all posted...

Thanks. Since there isn't a Dillard's near where I live, I don't pay much attention to it and don't get bills unless I travel somewhere like Denver. I opened the account because I found the dress I wanted to wear for my wedding, and if I opened the account I got an extra 10% off.

When I was in Denver like a year later, I bought some slacks for my husband. I think that is all that I have used this card.

I was down in Hampton VA over the weekend and saw a Dillard's store, but didn't have time to stop. Maybe if I can get down there again I can use my card.

Sorry to say, it does appear to be a trend.

I was looking last night at all 3 credit reports. While Macy's does report my $1200 credit limit correctly on all 3, Robinsons-May evades the issue on all 3, reporting only my $158 high balance.

This is unbelievable - wish there was something we could do...

As far as retail accounts go, I believe you're right. More and more of them are not reporting limits. None of the May Company stores (including Lord and Taylor) show a limit on my report. Macy's shows the credit limit, and so does Wal*Mart (thank goodness!!)

Maybe I'll start a new thread on which retail cards report.

I just checked my scores and between Dillards and Capital One my scored have plummeted from 720 to 640 and my score report on myfico.com says it is mainly due to usage.... it looks like I am maxed out.

I MAXED MY WAL*MART STORE CARD...I got the some GARBAGE reasons...but I have SEARS that is also a STORE card and it was EMPTY!!! I was under 30% used for those 2 cards...(add what I owed on each card and divide by the TOTAL CREDIT LIMITS OF THE TWO)

I got denied for the GM card and the Corvette card because of:
"I was maxed out on my Chevron card - $39 of $39 limit!"
Target card was $66 of $66 limit!

I tried to call and explain that these companies do not report the credit limit, but only high balance, and that I could send proof that the accounts were totally paid and that the limits were $300 and $200, respectively... "Sorry, we have to go by what's in your report! Try again after they are corrected!"

    Just curious:

Are those your highest balances ever, or just the latest balances? If the latter, we're all in trouble!

I think I can answer my own question. The amounts wouldn't be identical unless they used the latest balances as the high balances.

Unless the cards are very new, and the latest balances WERE the highest balances ever, there is a new problem with reporting.

So maybe it doesn't do any good to max out the card once to get a higher "high balance." If that gets wiped out every month, those cards are doing more harm than good.

NJones, please tell us, if true, that you just used those cards for the first time. Or that your latest balances really are your highest balances ever.
