Hello does anyone have a Union Plus credit card? I noticed it may be easier to qualify for the card for people with lower Credit Scores on Equifax. Part of the application requirements are that you are part of an AFL-CIO union. Is this something they check? If not, what do you enter in the fields where it asks for Union Information? The link for that CC is http://www.unionpluscard.com I was just denied for a GM card that also pulls Equifax so I thought the Union Plus card might be a good alternative instead of Orchid Bank whose rates are incredibly high. I saw on the Yahoo Forum for Credit Pulls by Card issuer that one person with a 635 got denied for a GM card but approved for a Union Plus card. My score is a 713 but GM denied my application due to insufficent credit references. Thanks everyone. Best, Andy
can't hurt to try for this card Another way to quickly build up a creidt history is to get a secured card from a credit union or major bank. After about 9 months to a year of on-time payments you will have a good credit score and history, and will find you can get approved for most any card
A follow-up link for consumers looking to boost their credit w/ a card they're likely to get approved for: Secured Credit Cards For People with Bad Credit - Creditnet.com ... Local credit unions are another available option, just make sure that they report CC usage to the major credit bureaus.
