Has anyone had any luck getting a chargeoff from Providian removed? They have verified the account with the cb's umpteen times. One report shows as a chargeoff, two others have chargeoff and many, many lates. I have disputed from every angle, and did send a pfb letter saying that I would pay the account in exchange for deletion, but never got a response. Any tips? Thanks. (the account was charged off about 3 years ago)
I had a paid charge-off from 1998 deleted on my first disputing go-around on both Equifax and Experian. Still waiting to hear from TU. I used 'not mine' on Experian and on Equifax said that the account was paid on time and closed by me in good standing. I think I've heard they're suffering big-time financially right now, so it might make sense to keep trying. With layoffs I've heard they've had, they might not have anyone around to verify it.
