Just thought I would let you all know that Cap 1 does not like BBB complaints as they are one of the primary sponsors listed on the BBB wesite right now. I disputed, re-disputed through CRA with no results, verified, verified, verified. Took a shot at a BBB complaint and TWO days later got a letter from Cap1 w/ a delete letter. Thought you might like to know.

I wonder if the cra are in bed with Citi, they must have some agreement not to delete. Seems like you have a better chance at winning the lotto. Has anyone filed a complaint with the BBB against Citi? any luck?.

No, I haven't. From the sounds of your posts I will be staying away I think! Did you read the posting to you in the other thread? It has some address for you to send letters to. There are some great letters on this board. What kind of letter are you looking to send?

Back in the day, Cap 1 were bottom feeders. They were known as the credit card company of last resort, where anyone could get approved.

I think that is why there are so many people with credit problems that have cap one charge offs on this board

They have since gone on a massive marketing campaign (you can't go anywhere without seeing their commercials...Damn you David Spade!!!), and I guess are trying to clean up their image.

I think they are a lot more concerned with neg publicity then they were a while back.

I had tried to have my cap one chargeoff removed unsuccessfully for the last 4 years.
I think I even tried a bbb or planet feedback complaint way back then, to no avail.
Then I finally combined that with a complaint to the atty general ( as i posted in another thread), and it was wiped off.

Anyway, that was my holy grail of deletions.
I never thought it would ever come off!
Slow and steady wins the race for sure.

I'll tell you what's NOT in my wallet....

They basically still are for the most part. I burned them in my BK, and one of the first pre approved offers that I received was from them.

I eventually reluctantly accepted, as I knew I had a large dental bill comming. Got the card with a $8,000 limit, and maxxed it almost immediately on the dental work. Then I missed one payment due date........

Default interest rate of 29.99%. Negotiated down and accepted a payment plan with them in return for them remove the late. They accepted, and have been paying it down at 15% till it's finally paid and will be closed.

What do I get in the mail a month ago?? Two pre approved offers from them--one for a Platinum card and the other for a business platinum card. Both right into the shredder. It's going to be a dark day when North Fork Banks signs start comming down and Capital One signs start going up. If they run the bank in the same manner that they run their cards, I forsee a bank failure on the horizon.

I couldn't agree more. They have been a pain in the ___ since the beginning of both my account and my husbands. I should have sued them for creating a fraudulent acct. But, I didn't. I just want my credit cleaned up.

    cap one bbb tips sponsor

it all makes sense to me now.
cap one is a sponsor on the bbb site in their tips section.
    http://bbb.org/alerts/tips.asp

cap one our founding national bbb tips sponsor

is this not the definition of conflict of interest?

that explains my cap one deletion after my bbb complaint!

    UF believable!

bbb, in bed with the enemy!

One lion's den is just as bad as another. Anyway...since they are so willin to "free" themselves from their bad rep. I should ask for a huge CL increase huh??? And anything else I can think of sounds like!
