If so and you paid it to Plaza Associates (???) please give me some information, address phone number anything. I need to contact them ASAP to settle my charge-off and shredded the information. CO wants 100% to give me an R-5 rating.
I have a Cap One Charge-off paid on settlement that was original through Plaza. I paid it before I found this board, besides it was my debt. I made arrangements and paid two of the three payments, for some reason I never made the last one but by then I had paid over $900 on a $1200 C/O. Plaza never recorded my settlement and sold it NCO who tried to collect the full amount. I made the last payment to NCO fulfilling the settlement and had to contact Cap One and they said I have paid enough. I paid almost $1100 on a $1200 C/O. I made the mistake of sending in the first payment before I got the settlement letter. Plaza was never listed on my CR under collections and I have Cap One still listed only my EX as a charge off payment after settlement. Plaza didnâ??t even record my two payments, but Cap One had them on file so get copies of everything.
I have a Cap One charge off that I want to pay, too. But I cannot get in touch with anyone to talk to me about it. I used PFB and sent a letter to this Mr. Cooke that everyone is talking about - no response. I called and left a message on his voice mail - no response. I called Cap One recovery department and sat on hold for 40 minutes - got tired of waiting and hung up. On my CR, it is listed as Cap One - not under any other collection agency. How is it listed on yours? I think I will try calling one more time and then I think I will send a validation letter... maybe they don't have record of my account. Ha. I'm sure they do, but I just can't seem to get an answer anywhere! Christi - also, (I know I should know this, but I have lost my paper that tells what all this stuff means) how good is an R5?
Christi - on a whim, I just typed in www.plazaassociates.com and their website came up. I didn't go in and look around because I don't have much time right now, but maybe you can get a phone number off there.
Cap one probably doesn't have any records of the contract. I have read other places that the CC companies don't keep anything over 2 years old, ( This from the CC companies themselves). Sounds like validation and deletion time .
Girlie, how long ago did you PFB and leave a voice mail for Mr. Cooke? I ask because, he took close to 2 weeks to contact me back once, so if it hasn't been that long (under 2 weeks) give him a little more time.
I did the PFB thing on Wednesday and then Capital One sent me an email (I guess it is the standard thing) saying that they got my PFB letter and that they try to respond within 24 hours. I left a voice mail message for him on Friday. Ok... that makes me feel better. I thought maybe he was just blowing me off or something. Thanks mindcrime.
