I got denied Chase and Discover and was wondering if anyone has PFB any creditor before to get an approval?

Please let me know how it turned out for you.

    Thanks a million.

PFB and wrote snail mail letter to Discover re: hubby's denial - no response whatsoever. Wasted time and a stamp.

I PFB'd MBNA 2 months after the denial and won. AMEX and Target Visa went ignored.

My reconsideration attempts after an initial denial:

PFB'd Chase - and was approved

PFB'd and called Citibank (3 times) - and was approved each time

PFB'd and called Bank of America - and was approved

Called Discover - they told me to jump in a lake...

Called Amex (3 times) - and was approved each time

    Called Generations - was approved

I mis-understood the question...already had the cards...ASKED FOR MORE LIMIT AND/OR BETTER TERMS...

    Marci,

What did Chase give you as far as limit and apr which card.

How long did it take for them to contact you and did they call you or send you a letter?

    thanks

I wont bet on discover card
I was more interested in Chase anyway.

They e-mailed the next day afte I sent the PFB letter that they forwarded my request for reconsideration to their credit dept. So, I called the credit dept. everyday until I heard a "yes".

The credit limit was $500 (!). I called the credit dept. back and requested for them to at least try to match my lowest line (at that time Providian was my lowest at $3000). They matched it in 48 hours, but it cost me another inquiry.

The intro apr was 2.99% with a "go to" of 18.99% and they WON'T budge from that now. Pretty mean customer service, too.

I think Chase is going the way of Fleet wrt customer service and card benefits. They want you to think they're "da bomb" (as I initially did) but they treat you like a piece of dirt. I'll use them sporadically and close them when I hit the 2 year mark.

I just sent one for hubby about his Juniper denial (785 FICO, no negs. on EQ report they pull). We'll see if it gets us anywhere.
