I got a invitation for a platinum discover card with 1.7 intro rate till may 2002. What do you guys think? garbage? feedback is appreciated.
I don't think that the CARD is garbage, especially with that introductory rate. It's somewhat better than your Citi AAdvantage card. I do think that the OFFER is garbage. Let me guess: you've been "pre-selected." Discover mails those offers out knowing they won't approve anyone. I think they try to prove their selectivity (to each other)by pointing to their low approval rate.

Yes me and wife both got one..And her mother did too and she only had ccb as a credit card for like 7 years and they gave her one but only 2k at 13.99% Mine was 3k at 14.99% and wifes was 3k but if she BT they give her 6k at 16.99% But they do not lower apr..So card is only good for 6 months

I'll bet I've seen a good half dozen of those today. My local customers are bringing them by to see if I think they can qualify for one of those. I just tell them that Discover is one of the hardest ones to qualify for and they should just trash it.
