anyone removed lates?

    Anyone have any luck calling the original creditor and ask them to remove any lates on the account? How did you go about this? I have Providian and cap1 with lates. Providian came back with verifies. Did not try cap1. Any letters or phone numbers where to call would be helpful.

    I had luck with Cap1...called the # on the back of their card. after the first rep told me they could not do it, I spoke with a supervisor. took about 45 minutes of discussion, logic, begging and pleading, but she agreed to change it with the CRAs but keep it as a late (30-day) on their internal records.

    I recommend NOT losing your temper, and not acting like you know everything about credit repair, just state your case calmly and reasonably. good luck.

    Hey Lionel..who at Cap1 ?

    Hi,
    Can you by chance remember who you spoke to at Cap1? What number did you call and did you specifically ask for a supervisor to plead your case to? What things did you say that helped as far as reasons for your lates? Any and all info would be greatly appreciated!

    I spoke with account specialist, someone in recovery dept as well as faxing a letter to their 'credit bureau' office. No response yet. No luck through phone. They told me they cant make special rules for me.

    I don't have the name of the supv, but she was not in the same office as the customer service rep i spoke with. I suppose it helped that I have two cards with them and aside from that instance, have been a good customer. i did mention that a combination of my travelling and the holidays delayed the payment. plus, at the time, i think there were problems with mail delivery, and my subsequent payment appeared less than a week after my late pymt.

    I called the number on the card on a Saturday, and it was the rep's idea for me to talk to a supervisor because she was tired of giong around in circles.
