Anyone on here use a lawyer for disputing inaccurate info? I have a collection for an apartment from 1998 that I can't get off of my reports. I'll give a basic rundown of what happened: I signed for an apartment as a rep for a company I was working at - they flew me in from out of state to find a corporate apartment - I never even stayed there. By the way they they had corporate apartments in 4 other states at the time so this was nothing new to them. The apartment comples printed the company name on the top of the lease and the company paid the sec. deposit and 1st months rent with their company check. I flew out 2 days after the lease was signed. I don't know what happened with the place after I left because it wasn't my territory and I left the company a month or two after this. But a year later this showed up on my credit report. I sent letters of dispute to the credit bureu's and to the collection agency. I've gotten no where. As an extra slap in the face, one collection agency sold(?) the account to another collection agency so this debt is now duplicated on my reports. I've sent letters to the collection bereu's with no luck. I want this over with and want a professional to take over this fight for me. Anyone use a lawyer for this? Any help is appreciated.
I did send them a validation letter and received nothing back from them. It also appears they "updated" my credit report restarting the 7 years from when they took over the account. I'd like to find a professional to attack and get this off my credit report.
