    Hey everyone, I have a question on CheckFree.com bill pay service, most of my charge accounts use CheckFree as the bill pay service, so I have to enroll with CheckFree in order to pay my bill online, after carefully reading the CheckFree account setup, they ask for Social Security Number, Which left me thinking why, so I called CheckFree and ask the Rep if they pull a hard Inq during the account setup, she said she really didn't know, but she said they pull it for ID purpose, she said they use Equifax. So I called Equifax and spoke to a Rep, she didn't know either, I ask to speak to a supervisor and he said that CheckFree ID Inq, is a Hard Inq, and I will lose 2-3 Points. =( I still haven't signed up with CheckFree hopeing I can get some advise from others using this service.

    Did CheckFree.com, Pull a Hard Inq for you??

    Thanks =)

    I have used the service for about 2 yrs now, & they pull a soft inquiry to make certain that all of the information matches.I have enjoyed them immensely & have NEVER had a problem as we speak(there customer svc is wonderful).

    I have used them for about a year or so and am also very happy.

    One thing to note is that they still rely on "standard mail days" so, for example, if you have a bill due on Saturday do not wait until Friday night to try to process it via Checkfree. It used to take up to three days to go through - so if it was 2/18 they wouldn't even allow you to process anything due before apx. 2/22. However, they have gotten much quicker and generally can schedule "next day payments" with the exception of weekends and holidays. Or you can schedule well in advance and know that you are done - without having to mail out your money a month early.

    I highly recommend them.

    If they MUST have a credit report to "SEE" how you pay your bills...like the insurance companies "SEE" how you drive by your credit report...SEND A COPY OF YOUR OWN!!!
