JcPenney had listed a charge off on my TU (it was actually listed 2x, but TU deleted one that I disputed as a duplicate). When it could not be verified, JCP started listing it as part of a Ch 7 bankruptcy! Imagine my surprise when I saw that today, as I have NEVER filed any kind of bankruptcy!!. I have disputed it again. BUT....and I know this is a DUMB question because I am asking why a CRA would do this.....what really gets me is that TU did not seem to think there was an error in this. The account is a charge off for $1...yes, $1. Would it make ANY sense under the sun that I would include this in a bk and NOT include cards that I owe thousands on??? AARRGGHHH

Ok...and another question....are CA allowed to pull hard inquiries (especially if they are not listing a collection account)? NCO has pulled 4 hards since last July. I disputed these and I got a letter from TU saying that I would have to contact the companies myself to ask for deletion. What is the best way to do this?

    Thanks!!

Yes, CA's are allowed to pull hard inq's as long as they are attempting to collect a debt from you.

TU just deleted my collection accout. Should I go for the deletion of NCO's inquiries since there was no obvious debt to collect on? No permissible purpose???
