As you all know, I have a couple of accounts at Washington Mutual - I got them because they originally took over Home Savings about 6-7 years ago. I have a Platinum acct and a Gold acct. I was in the branch today and picked up an app for their VISA issued by Citibank. They have gone to tier based pricing: Visa Signature/Premier 9.74% Preferred 12.74% Select 17.74% Value 21.24% Annual income required for SIGNATURE is $60K. Annual income required for others is $8K! I went ahead and applied for the Visa Signature - figuring I won't get it - but, I do have a few bucks in their Platinum acct for a long time now.... The application asked for the usual: name/address/SS#/DOB/employer/salary but on the financial section - they asked only: HOW MANY ACCTS do you have with WAMU? HOW MUCH do you have on deposit with WAMU in all accts? I sent it in. We'll see what happens.... aarrffff - dogman PS - oh get this: the late charge is $15 on the top cards, $25 on the middle cards if $1000 or less, over $1000 $35....on the "VALUE" card the late fee is always $35! amazing!
I've never figured that when a bank doesn't issue their own credit cards that you get any advantage from having a prior banking relationship. After all, what does Citibank know of your accounts in good standing with Washington Mutual?
I guess I'll be testing the waters....aarfff - doing that dog paddle! I know what you mean but it was very pointed towards money or accts you now had at WAMU; who knows? I will be lucky to get approved.....LOL! doggin it - dogman
Do keep us updated as to whether you get it or not. I have a few accounts with WAMU and I have an old chargeoff with Citibank. I wonder if they would stop them from giving me a card. But, I'm not going to find out. It's interesting to see that they want to know all your account holdings with WAMU but they don't issue the card. I wonder if they do this in case of default then they have direct access to your funds.
Hi betacredit - they did not ask acct numbers - just number of accts and deposit balances.... will keep you posted - I included Citi in my Chap 13 so it will be interesting.... aarrff -dogman
Woof! Woof! Thanks! I tried to do this with BofA when I applied (pretend that your are an existing customer) and they ask for account numbers. At least, WAMU doesn't.
