I applied for 4 cards today. I went on a apply rampage. I applied for Target --200 cl I applied for Kmart---200 cl (exact amt still pending) I applied for Lane Bryant---"will contact u msg" I applied for Spiegel ---"will contact u msg" Now--my ego is bruised. All of these cards were to be easy cards. Now that I look back I should not have applied for those last two. I was trying to following the "perfect credit model". Here is my available credit: Citibank MC $1350 Target $200 K-Mart MC $200 Nothing else. I do two other applications pending: Cap One _Personal Visa Providian--Business MC What product should I add to build good credit and/or a great scoring model thanks in advance--Tex
I agree 100% with both previous replies. But if all four show on one report, say Equifax, that MIGHT look bad (it depends on the lender.) Some lenders don't like too many inquiries or too many new accounts. But it sounds like you're getting pretty established. Wish I could get that good. Maybe once these disputes are investigated. I'd love a Target and Victoria's Secret for starters, as I understand Lane Bryant has more picky standards concerning major CC history (so I'll wait 8-12 months on those, and I guess a few for the T and VS.) Steph
Let me tell you something Tex, You have to do something to get something. You cant get GOOD credit babysitting 1 or 2 visas. You need to bite the bullet as you did and get some good tradelines. You should be Happy as HEck that you got 2 approvals. That is impressive. Dont let others glory stories of easy approvals get you down. Everyones credit situation is different. Why should you be boomed. You should be partying that you Got the Kmart and Target card. IF you get the other two.....that is great too. But you only need the 2 anyway. As for the inquiries......they dont mean much after 6-12 months. You need to mature these accounts in that period anyway. It all works out in the end. BELIEVE ME. Why not come celebrate in chat?
http://www.saumag.edu/art/studio/chalkboard/c-wheel.html The Color Wheel describes the relationships between colors. It is laid out so that any two PRIMARY COLORS (red, yellow, blue) are separated by the SECONDARY COLORS (orange, violet, and green). PRIMARY COLORS and SECONDARY COLORS will probably have the best results...
You should try some visa/mc instead to get your tradelines set. But, anyways, lets hope you get the other two.
spiegel gave me the same "processing msg" about 2-3 weeks later i got the card. if I were you i'd concentrate and using your current citibank to get another.. just my opinion.
I tell you, if I could get one truly unsecured card right now I'd be throwing a major online party I'm praying that if I get negatives deleted off at least 1 credit report, that I can try to get a student card *not with Associates* or a Target card. Please, credit gods? Just one more unsecured chance? I screwed up one, I promise I won't screw up ever again. Steph
Authur, I got denied for a Target card, but I got an unsecured Cap 1! Yes the initial CL was $200, but I got it upped to $500 because of a SNAFU in my online agreement.... (stop laughing at my low CLs!!) Anyways, I had a closed by creditor on my first Cap 1, but I paid it completely off (yea income tax refund) back in Jan... Hope it helps, Deb
the www.paypalcreditcard.com is a good providian offer. High rates but has grace period, and you can always talk the rates down. It looks REALLY cool. A dark grey see through card. Kinda sucked to have to cut it up. Aria/providian gives good limit increases every 5 months i hear.
Right now I'm disputing an old Cap1 account my father had (I was authorized user) so hopefully something will come of that. I'm too afraid to apply to Cap1 and Associates again after my delinquencies with them. Of course, since I'm *not* delinquent according to my disputes then maybe I SHOULD apply? Steph
I happened to see my online Experian today. I noticed that there were of the 4 cards I applied for there were only 2 inquires shows ( 2 hards and 2 soft) side note: does the soft mean I got approved? Could the denial be due to too many successive hits on the same report in a short period of time? Another thread--posted by Molly on here denial by WFNB could lend some truth to this.
