Re: Circuit City Visa requirements Nope. I did get the 7-10 day message though and the card followed 3 weeks later.
Circuit City I just did a PFB to CC. The good news, for once I did a PFB, and actually got a reply! A quick replay at that! The bad news, is that they really didn't read my letter, instead got a "canned" reply. Wrote a detailed letter, said I have yet to receive official notification of my status, but since I did not receive automatic approval I am assuming my application has been rejected. Under that premise, I would hope to be reconsidered. Listed numerous reasons why I thought they should reconsider. Here was their reply: Thanks for your question about your credit application. I apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced. Circuit City employs Certegy to assist us with credit approval. For any inquiries you may have, I recommend you contact Certegy at (1-866-488-5433). I hope this information has been helpful to you That's a new wrinkle. I've never heard anyone mention Certegy in relation to CC before.
Circuit City - dumb and dumber I called the phone number that Circuit City gave me in their e-mail. It has NOTHING to do with credit applications, it is for Customer Service declined checks. I spoke with the CSR and she seemed confused as hell as to why Circuit City gave me that number for follow up on credit apps, as they handle check processing, not credit apps. So here we go round and round....
Re: Re: Apply for Circuit City late Just curious as to your PFB route. As you see in my last post, I did a PFB, and got a worthless phone number to call. I feel like I am missing something here. I don't recall anything credit specific for CC on the PFB options.
Re: Re: Re: Apply for Circuit City late Complaint Compliment Question Suggestion It NEVER has had any "CREDIT CARD" specific complaint statements... CUT TO FIT...
Circuit City - dumb and dumber After you get by the choice of: Complaint Compliment Question Suggestion You then have the choice of: Cleanliness/Condition Exchanges/Returns Information Availability Location Management Other Overall Experience Price/Value Selection/Availability Staff Attitude/Knowledge Staff Performance No choices for Credit problems, billing issues, or anything of that nature??? OK, so what category do you select for please take a look at my application. I used "other." I then referenced yesterday's PFB, I asked if they could please send the information from the previous PFB to someone who can actually look at the information, and do something about it! I am still reserving judgement about PFB. I know several folks have praised it here in the forums, but I have yet to see anything constructive come out of it in then several times I have used it,
Circuit City - dumb and dumber Hi everyone! It has been quite a few months since I last came to this site, I have missed it. Anyway, I am sorry I am still a bit ignorant, but what exactly is PFB? I just got turned down for a C City CC too. I was really surprized, since we just bought a house 4 months ago. I am wondering if my debt ratio has anything to do with it? You think? Thanks you guys, good to be back!
Circuit City - dumb and dumber !!!! Ok, Today's PFB reply, in which I referenced yesterdays reply, is as follows: Thank you for responding to the previous email. I apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this may have caused you. You may contact our credit card company FNANB toll free at 1-800-477-6761 or via mail at: P.O. Box 100045 Kennesaw, GA 30156- 9245 So I call 1-800-477-6761, it keeps asking for the primary card holders SSN or your account number. OK, I don't have an account, so I tried my SSN, and that didn't work. So I sat there and waited until the system asked my five or six more times for my SSN, and finally it transferred to an operator. Now I have an operator online, and she asks me for my account number. I tell her I am asking about the status of an application, she takes my SSN, punches it in, and tells me she can't pull anything up under that SSN, maybe I should call the store. ARRRGGGGHHH! I don't need this credit card, just would have been nice to add another CL to the list. Right now this run around is getting so frustrating I don't even know if I ever want to do business with CC. As far as PFB goes, maybe I'm cursed, possessed by an evil credit spirit or such, because I have yet to see anything positive come back from PFB.

Circuit City - approved! I applied in store and was approved on the spot for a $6,000 credit line on the Circuit City Visa. That stunned me. I was hoping at best to qualify for $1,000 and would have been thrilled with that. The only other bankcard I've had since my BK was discharged was an FCNB secured card was that closed when FCNB went out of business. The interest rate is high (19.8 percent), but I don't plan on carrying a balance. I'm happy because I needed a new card, and this one is unsecured and doesn't have an annual fee. Plus, I can use it for Circuit City's "no-interest until" sales. I'm supposed to receive my card in the mail within two weeks.
Circuit City - approved! Thats great! Congratulations! Do you mind letting us know what your score was? I am really bummed about not being approved. Unless they are looking at the inquiries I have for my mortgage shopping less than 5 months ago! Do you know who they pulled? Thanks!
Re: Circuit City - approved! I haven't checked my score lately. I was in the high 600s when I was approved for a mortgage about six months ago. I don't know who they pulled on me. I have heard they pull Equifax. I'm worried because another thread Circuit City's bank is being bought by Fleet, which is being bought by Bank of America. I'm afraid BofA will close all cards in the Circuit City portfolio that list a BK on the credit report.
Re: Circuit City - approved! Thanks for your reply. We also were approved for a mortgage only about 5 months ago, and my hubby's middle score was Eq, it was 680. ( Mine was a tad lower)For some reason, his score with Eq dropped 50 points. So when we applied for a CC card last week it was 630. I can't figure it out. The mortgage isn't even showing up on his report yet. No current collections, a few late pays from 99 on a credit card, and a charge off which was paid, but transferred. I cannot seem to get that off. a measly 200.00. But, all that was on there before, too. I just don't get it. I did PFD to CC to see if they will reconsider. We'll see. Congratulations again, and let's keep our fingers crossed on the B of A thing!
