I looked at the old thread and never really saw a definitive answer--are disputed negatives on a report not factored into your credit score while they are being investigated?

Is that a good time to apply for credit?

I just disputed a stack online with TU so this might be a good time....

I think that seems to be the case with most of the post on the board, but I would say before applying go to the mills website and make sure that they will pull TU.

    1. Ensure your actually "In dispute" mode, and then ensure that you are applying somewhere that will pull the selected bureaus.

Don't assume that because you sent in a dispute, that you are "in-dispute" on those accounts. TU is really slow. EFX and EXP are quick..

I spoke with a representative of Fair Isaac who confirmed that (at least in the case of Equifax) accounts in dispute are not factored into your credit score. So you do get a temporary bump while things are being investigated.
