I looked at the old thread and never really saw a definitive answer--are disputed negatives on a report not factored into your credit score while they are being investigated? Is that a good time to apply for credit? I just disputed a stack online with TU so this might be a good time....
I think that seems to be the case with most of the post on the board, but I would say before applying go to the mills website and make sure that they will pull TU. Keisha "Waking uo from a credit nightmare"
1. Ensure your actually "In dispute" mode, and then ensure that you are applying somewhere that will pull the selected bureaus. Don't assume that because you sent in a dispute, that you are "in-dispute" on those accounts. TU is really slow. EFX and EXP are quick..
I spoke with a representative of Fair Isaac who confirmed that (at least in the case of Equifax) accounts in dispute are not factored into your credit score. So you do get a temporary bump while things are being investigated.
