If you were to apply for both the GM and Best Buy cards on the same day would that make a difference? I was wondering since both come from Household and they pull EQ which happens to me best report.
Island boy long time no hear, I have 2 best buys and 1 gm and tried to combine and they acted like totally different companies and would not or could not do a thing. so I don't think you could get away with 1 inq. good luck.

they suck, i'm sure you are aware. best buy is good for the free 0% for so many months, but otherwise, in general household bites big floppy donkey.
Hi there, (lol sam btw) I applied and was approved for the Best Buy card at the store and there's a thingy on the app to kind of accept the household card so I signed it, like a dork ......wishing later it was the gm card. It did TWO inqs, I had probably a 685 eq maybe a little more. I am awaiting my household mc at which time I am calling in BEFORE I activate and beg for them to change it to a gm card. I don't want household either and the onlyyyyyy reason I got best buy was 18 mos 0%. Couldn't beat it. Well, it WOULD beat it if it wasn't household! ick!
Let me tell you that household mastercard off the best buy application is horrible. I got mine and 4 months later paid it off and canceled it.
It got here and it's $69 annual fee for a 500cl and 17.99.......no I did not activate it!! I hope I can get it off my reports if it does report!
funny little story as to how household thinks. I paid off $300 on my providian, $700 on my merrick bank, and $700 on mu household mastercard accounts and closed them. GM card by household will only offer, and this is after a 45 minute conversation, a $300 card. I was like- I just paid off and closed a $700 household card and all you can do is switch it with a $300 household gm card. Yep. this is with perfect credit also. Apparently they do not like all my new credit from last september. Never mind they are all paid off and have perfect ratings and really there are only 2 credit cards although with a couple consecos, best buy, home depot, and target. Oh I forgot. I could only get the $300 gm card if I close my $400 chase toyrsus credit card along with one other store card. I want a gm card but not that badly geez.
Picantel, that is a horrible story. In my opinion, you do not want a household gm card. I am still hoping that the bank that took over will improve service. It doesn't look like it is going to happen though.
