EQ=697 + 1 public record (unsatisfied tax lien). What CC company might consider my application for credit ? Are there automatic denial mechanisms in place if I try the instant approval route?

There are automatic filters for public records. Manual review will be your best bet. A lot depends on how old the record is too. See if it's on all CRA reports. Lots of times it's on 1 or 2.

    Thanks for the reply..

It is on all 3 reports and is 8 1/2 years old.
Otherwise, perfect credit for 20 years.

I've read it should only be on your report for 7 years. I would try disputing as not mine. I got one removed this way.

Check the SOL in your state for judgements. Being that old it might not be a problem. I had one 5 years old and they reason for getting turned down was not enough credit. It was a manual review though. Instant credit will most likely have a filter.
