I submitted a dispute to TU online. The email I rec'd acknowledging dispute contained this tidbit: "When you have a dispute pending, we recommend that you not apply for credit, as the results of the investigation may affect a new credit decision." How does the dispute affect a new credit decision? I'm assuming this is not an altruistic recommendation for my benefit, but rather for the benefit of a potential creditor? Then again, I hate to be that cynical...
