I recently was approved for a credit card. They sent me the letter of approval and some figures on their card. After reading the fine print I realized I would be better off without this card. It starts off almost charged to the limit in nasty fees.

My question, how do I return the card, and not get stuck paying the fees. And will this show on my credit report as an open account? I know it will as an inquiry (should of paid more attention).

Thank you for any advice you can give.

You should be able to cancel within thirty days with no fees.I would call the company asap.

    Manda:

Ask them to credit your account immediately for the fees. After closing the account ask the customer service rep to send you a letter that the account is closed by consumer request and paid in full. It never hurts to be cautious just in case they come back to you stating that you still owe them.
    Best of luck.
