My situation is diferent. I have Citi Plat select and Dividend platinum since January 2001, 10.5 K each.

I have applied twice this year for AA and Gold AA and have been denied for Max number of cards/ or credit with Citi. Actually I have like 8 o 9 Citibank inquires this year on my Equifax report. This have been killed me when apply for others cards.

you got the maximum credit for your income/score.

the rule has always been the same.

    2 Citi + 1 AA.

    Sam:

I just read your last post. Interesting point. Do you happen to know, or have an educated guess, as to what the maximum income/credit limit ratio is?

You have three Citi cards, right? If you don't mind me asking you, what was your ratio when you applied for the third card? And what is your ratio after having been approved for the third card?

I have no idea whether I can qualify for a third card or not, and don't want to waste an inquiry if my annual income doesn't support additional credit lines. Your answer might also give me a sense of what kind of limit I could get on a third card, assuming I qualify for one.

    Thanks, Sam.

dunno i didn't hit the limit on my credit yet. I'm going to give citi a break till february then hit them up again. i don't want to piss them off.

My approvals have always been in the 5-6K range each time. Some folks here get 9K+ approvals.

    nobody knows??

My payment history varies from minimum to over $3000/month depending on how i shift my debt.

From what I've been told by more than one rep it does count. The last time I spoke with them I was told you may have two CITI accounts and one affinity account.

    Question cardholders:

Is the Silver card the first to apply for? I hope to have all of my negs removed by Jan 2002. I am thinking that maybe I can apply for this first.

Yes, the silver is definitely the first CITIBANK card you should apply for. With no negative items, it shouldn't be too hard to get.
