hey guys, we finally after 6 ong weeks were approved by rural housing. Oh my god I can't even believe it! I just need to produce another pay stub and we may need to add insallation, they also suggested we have some type of home counseling that sosts 75.00 over the phone. but that's not a requirement. I think that is a crock, I will do it if we have to, but feel its' dumb to spend another 75.00 when I have researched house buying, credit mangement, budgeting for 2 years! I wonder if being a member of creditnet would fill the requirement? lol. anyhow, we are pyched! I always thought we would have to wait at least 5 years until the derogs fell off our reports. If I hadn't found this board I would still be sitting around waiting to time to pass. My boys are so excited. we will have a big yard on a secluded ally, with lots of trees. the house we rent is right beside a busy intersection, they can never go outside alone for even a minute. I am so grateful and thank God. thanks guys. jody
Congrats, That is great to hear. It seems as though this rural housing program has helped many people get into homes. Enjoy your house!
Hurleee, I'm a newbie and just need to know about rural housing. What is that and how does it help with home buying. I'm thinking about building in the country and just wondering if this is an option that perhaps I should look into. Thanks!
general, if you do a search for rural development the website is easy to find. I'm pretty sure these government secured loans are for purchasing existing homes. there is no PMI and no down payment, but closing costs are more. they have certain thermal standards, etc.
