Does anyone know what type of score you need to have in order to qualify for a special APR-such as 0.9%,2.9%,etc.?? I figured 750 or higher. Just wondering... Thanks!! HeatherB
Dealers use a different FICO score called an auto enhanced fico. It shouldn't be a lot different from your regular fico, but it will be greatly enhanced if you have had car loans in the past that were paid off. I think for most programs, 680-700 should be enough to get the deal done if you have good income and time on the job.
We have scores that range from 500-550 and got 2.9 on a Ford, we have financed through them before though.
700 is what it takes for most top end finance rates. Keep in mind, most of the time those rates for 24 month financing ouch big payment. good luck btw, a 700 + previous auto or house installment loan paid in full is what i mean. A 700 score by itself (no previous car finance) can disqualify you quick.
All the ads I have seen in my area for 0% financing state that you need a 750 Beacon score or higher to qualify for this rate. I had friends at work ask me what a Beacon score was LOL.
I have NEVER financed a car...but I think you could get the same 0.00% financing with a BIG down payment...30%??? (if you were close like ~700)???
I got a 2002 Maxima with 0.9% for 60 month no money down. My score was 650 Equifax at the dealer it was 685 at the time. Hope this helps
