Is this against the FCRA? I closed one of my accounts when I got the Target Card, and last month, the store did an AR. I have had my Target card since December, and the other card has been closed for just about that long. I wonder how they can explain their permissible purpose.....

IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME I GUESS...FIRST USA did one every month after wife's account was closed.

I guess others must do it also...(haven't payed much attention because it's JUST a soft)

I DISPUTED EXPERIAN SOFT WITH THE "TRICK" 10 +/- but 2 stayed!!!

That's still NOT as bad as the "HARD" for my BT!!!

If I understand correctly, you're sitting on a gold mine here.
Isn't there a financial penalty attached to pulling without permissible purpose?
Could you multiply that penalty ($500) by the number of inquiries and then sue?
Looks like Target may have decided to pay your next mortgage payment, if you play your cards right.

It wasn't Target that did it, it was another retail card. I think you may be right, though....
